The Mustard Seed: Mark 4.30-32 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” As these seeds are planted into the imagination and thoughts, they
immediately germinate and spread, and are almost impossible to eradicate
and get rid of. |

Parables are powerful "word-pictures" that are meant to be engrafted into our thinking...as mental pictures do control our thought-life. That's
where the "imagination" gets involved. The imagination allows mental exploration of the past,
present, future. It is the ability to see pictures and images in the
"movie theater" of the mind. The imagination is the "workshop" of the
human mind. It is the only thing in the world we have complete control
over. That's why GOD takes great interest of what goes on there, and judges what we allow to grow there - Genesis 6.5 |
This parable in plain English - Jesus is teaching that the Kingdom of GOD [the way GOD thinks] is like a mustard seed that anyone can take freely and sow into his [personal] field [thought-life]. Information source: The Tree of Life - occupied by GOD the Father. As they built the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11 in rebellion and pride - to "make us a name" - this is the opposite to the Tower of Babel...this is built within a believer with GOD's approval using the foundation of the Word and the empowering Holy Spirit - to exalt His Name! The Tower of Babel crumbled because of the dividing of languages - no-one could work together - and dispersed... Their information source: The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil - occupied still by the Serpent The Kingdom of GOD is like that - if we - as small and unimportant as we
are - as we embrace the principles of the Kingdom of GOD - it spreads within our "spiritual hearts" bringing unity and harmony between us and GOD the Father... |
GOD created the growth principle from the smallest of beginnings... Born in Bethlehem. They found no room in the inn. Jesus has become the greatest influence known to mankind...kings have tried to kill Him, finally they crucified Him, only to find out that one small seed that died, was buried and rose again, has become the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The power is in the seed, not the size. |
Little seeds. Big flavor!
The size of the seed has no bearing upon results
It is a mistake to judge the end or success of a person, thing, or idea by the outward appearance visible at the beginning
The potential and inherent power contained in a seed is not proportional to its size.
Any enterprise with GOD in it has the potential to outgrow anything that presently occupies that space.
Any stronghold can be conquered. The smallest seed from GOD conquers the largest thing it comes against. David versus Goliath illustrates this principle.
The smallest can become the most powerful of all, if GOD is in it.
Small is always usable.
Small never stays small. One talent, one widow's mite, one cup of cold water, one lost coin - are all usable
The smallest can have a "powerful impact" on anything it touches, once the seed is "sown". The process then takes over. The outcome can be a huge success.
Do not despise the day of small beginnings.
Most people never get started because they feel their talent is too small. They leave their seed in the barn Haggai 2.19 " I am giving you a promise now while the seed is still in the barn. You have not yet harvested your grain, and your grapevines, fig trees, pomegranates, and olive trees have not yet produced their crops. But from this day onward I will bless you." Seed left in the barn cannot grow. Seed has to be sown. Seed must get into the soil. That is where the miracle begins...
The success of the smallest enterprise can provide protection and provision to many, as the birds nested in the branches
